FAQ

Mix Your Own E-Liquid

Making your own e liquid is a huge money saver. If you have a flavour or range of flavours that you love and want it in bulk quantities, it has never been easier to get the flavourings and base mixes that you need to ensure you have an (almost) endless supply.

By doing it yourself, you can also get creative, mixing flavours to create new blends if you so wish. While making ejuice is as easy as its ever been, you still must understand the ingredients, concentrate levels and how e liquid comes together as a whole. The main components of e-liquid are Propylene Glycol, Vegetable Glycerine, Flavour Concentrate and Nicotine.

Mixing is an art, and finding the balance is vital.

What is a Base Mix?

A base mix combines two of the core elements of e liquid: PG (Propylene Glycol) and VG (Vegetable Glycerine). The combination of these two elements come in different ratios, with the most common ratios being a 70% VG, 30% PG split and a 50/50 VG PG split.

Propylene Glycol is the flavour element in the base mix, this carries flavour concentrates very well, and PG in its base form is odourless but brings a slightly sweet taste. Propylene Glycol is found in many foods, medicines, and many other products as it helps keep products moist.

If you have a sensitivity, allergy or feel unwell when vaping higher PG e liquids, we recommend that you vape a higher VG e liquid or cease vaping altogether.

Vegetable Glycerine provides you with smoothness and helps to produce larger volumes of vapour; this is a core ingredient in e liquid. VG is present in many other products, such as a sweetener in many foods, cosmetics, medical products and more.

The higher the VG ratio, the thicker the e liquid will be, which makes it more suitable to higher-powered devices that can handle sub-ohm vaping.

How Much Flavour Concentrate Should I Use?

Many manufacturers have taken the hassle out of figuring out how much concentrate you should use, marking on the bottles suggested percentage rates to get the best flavour possible.

The vast majority of concentrates we stock come in 30ml bottles, giving you percentage recommendations on the bottle. Most concentrates will recommend a mix of between 15% and 20%, meaning if you add the concentrate to 120ml of base mix, you will get 150ml of e liquid that features an excellent sharp, flavour profile.

Please be aware that flavour concentrates should only be vaped once they have been combined with base mix. These are not e-liquids on their own and must be premixed with VG and PG before use.
