What Is a Pod Kit?
A Pod Kit is a device that houses a pod, which is typically connected via a magnetic connector. These pods are often removable (some devices, such as disposable pod kits are not removable) and come in two different forms.
Closed pod systems are devices that use pod that cannot be refilled, or the coil cannot be changed in them. There are many popular brands that use these, and they are a convenient option, especially for new vapers. Simply carry a small spare pod around with you and replace it when you need to.
Open pod systems feature pods that can be refilled with e-liquid. Some of them also allow you to replace coils, further tailoring your vaping experience to your needs.
What is the Best E-Liquid for a Pod Kit?
The answer to this question greatly depends on the type of pod kit that you have. Most pod kits are above ohm devices, meaning that the coils contained within the pods have a resistance greater than 1 Ohm.
For pod kits like these, we would recommend that a user would use something like 50/50 e-liquids or nicotine salts. These e-liquids feature a higher PG ratio, which makes the e-liquid less viscous and “waterier” in consistency. This is more easily absorbed and vaporized by this coil type and will give you the best results.
These e-liquids aim to provide you with an experience that closely emulates smoking.
For some of the higher end pod kits, you’ll notice that not only do they offer settings for above ohm coils, but they also offer settings for sub-ohm coils. These are called sub-ohm because their resistance is less than 1 Ohm.
With these devices, you can start to experiment more with different e-liquid types such as 70% VG blends.
